Quick Tips to Improve the Energy Efficiency of Your Home

As more and more states enact Stay at Home orders due to COVID-19, it’s likely that you or someone you know is staying indoors a lot more than usual. Staying indoors and social distancing is truly saving lives. While we are all doing what we can to stop the spread of COVID-19, we also want to help you stay comfortable and not break the bank this month with high energy bills.

As an ELAN customer, it’s easy to improve the energy efficiency of your home with a few simple steps. With the touch of a button (on your app or touch panel), you can schedule climate changes, lighting and more. In addition, our system stores all your energy usage and you can quickly make improvements to drive down your energy costs.

Home Automation for Smart Climate ControlHere are three easy tips to program comfort and save while doing it:

  1. Media Sources - Turn them off. That’s right. Turn off in order to turn on energy-efficiency. You can turn off all media sources with the tap of one button through your ELAN app or touch panel.
  2. Climate Scheduling - Use your ELAN app or touch panel to easily schedule your climate settings and efficiently control heating or cooling. Watch the ELAN climate scheduling video.
  3. View Your History - Use the climate history function to monitor usage and temperature settings over time. By monitoring your history, you can make more informed decisions on when you’re using the most energy and the steps you can take to lower your usage during those “peak” hours.

In addition to using your ELAN home automation system to turn off media sources, schedule climate settings and monitor your usage over time, you can also make small improvements to each room in order to reduce your overall carbon footprint.
