Home Automation Systems
The owners of this 1940’s Hamptons cottage lost everything to Hurricane Sandy in 2012. Forced to completely rebuild, they decided to create an energy-efficient home, one so energy efficient that it would be certified LEED Platinum. They named their project the “Sunset Green Home” and selected ELAN for its ability to seamlessly integrate all subsystems, plus its ultimate ease of use through touchpanels, remotes and even mobile phones and tablets. “I’m an energy-efficiency professional for my day job, so I’m a bit of an energy nerd. I love the idea that I can go into my ELAN smart home system and I can see how efficiently our energy systems are working,” said homeowner Kim Erle. “These are all systems that have to function together,” continues Erle, “and that’s one of the reasons we chose the ELAN system. It allows us not only to monitor, but also to control the multiple systems that are contributing to the efficiency of this house.
